Smart Page Search helps users search, translate, and navigate webpage content. The extension analyzes visible text on the current page and sends relevant page text, along with the user’s query, to the Gemini API in order to generate matches, translations, summaries, and guidance.
The extension may process the following information when the user activates it:
The extension stores the Gemini API key, preferred language, and extension settings locally using Chrome extension storage. This information is not sold or shared for advertising purposes.
Smart Page Search sends search-related page text and user queries to Google’s Gemini API endpoint at https://generativelanguage.googleapis.com/ in order to generate results. The extension does not download and execute remote code.
The extension does not sell personal data. Data is only transmitted to the Gemini API when the user actively runs a search or preview request.
Users can remove the extension at any time and can clear the locally stored API key and settings through the extension options page or browser extension settings.
